A facelift removes excess fat and tightens and lifts the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be a standalone procedure or it can be combined with other procedures such as a brow lift or eyelid surgery to optimize results. A facelift is performed with small incisions made just at the hairline at the temple, behind the ear and then carefully into the hairline. Depending on the amount of lift required, a "short-scar" facelift may be performed where the incisions stop just behind the earlobe. The neck may also be lifted and neck bands smoothed at the same time with a tiny incision that is hidden beneath the chin.
